Just like his father did more than three decades ago Austrian skier Johannes Strolz won the Olympic gold medal in the Alpine combined race.

The Austrian yelled with delight on finishing his second run in the event that decides the best all-rounder with Norways Aleksander Aamodt Kilde claiming silver and Canadas James Jack Crawford the bronze. Hubert Strolz also won silver in the giant slalom that year. Johannes Strolz has created one of the biggest upsets in years on the Alpine skiing World Cup. Jack Crawford of Canada finished third 068sec behind Strolz and 009sec behind Kilde.
